Well-Being in Schools + Organizations

Today, there are many studies being conducted throughout the world that are finding that there is a rise in depression, stress, anxiety and other physical illnesses in schools and workplaces.

 

Creating a culture of positive mental health and promoting well-being in schools and organizations is strongly recommended. However, the challenge is that there is a perception that negative mental health is solely an external phenomenon independent to one's school or work environment.

 

Also, organizations with supports in place need to better work in partnership than in parallel to better experience and benefit from well-being programs, (NAPCE, 2006)

Positive Education is spreading and it seems to be a bottom-up movement. Students, teachers, and parents learn about it, believe in it, and then advocate for it.

BEING A VOICE, NOT AN ECHO

It's always an honour to be asked to speak in a classroom, in a boardroom, at an event and on stage. Throughout my life, I have struggled with my mental well-being due to childhood bullying. You can read it in my story by clicking here

I always told myself when I get to a place of healing and self-acceptance; that I will share my voice in hopes to inspire that child in knowing they belong, to provide that teenager with comfort by telling them they have limitless potential, and to let that adult know that they are enough!
